Arenal Volcano Photos From The Mirador In Monteverde, Sep. 2007
About 2 weeks ago we did a photo update from the Mirador Lodge right before sunset. Last night we set out for another udpate from the Mirador, this time arriving about an hour after sunset to photograph some lava activity at night. Around 10pm the clouds rolled in and we called it a night. We got up around 4:30 am to take some photos of the sunrise, it turned out to be a great morning in spite of the cloud formations blocking some of the view.
Eruption Date: Thu Sep 20 2007 17:00:00 GMT-0700 (Pacific Daylight Time)
This photo journal has been featured on Anywhere Costa Rica, you can see more of then at the Arenal in Photos, the "Old Faithful" of Volcanoes article.
Check out our Arenal Volcano Map for an update on the volcano’s current activity. It did, however, enter into a resting phase in 2010. At present, no eruptions are occurring.
There are a number of excursions in Arenal that allow for close viewing of the Arenal volcano. These include hikes through the Arenal Volcano National Park and the 4-in-one Arenal excursion, which includes a trip to the waterfall, a volcano hike, and a visit to one of the area’s hot springs.
