Hotel La Pradera

Rafting trips down the Peñas Blancas River give visitors wonderful insight into the natural history of the region and allow rafters to search for monkeys, sloths and other creatures in the nearby trees. Canopy tours send tour takers flying through the upper level of the forest, while fishing trips along Lake Arenal allow visitors to plumb the depths of this lake for native fish. In addition to – and because of – the volcano, this area is renowned for its plentiful hot springs. A soak in one of these is an ideal way to begin or end any day.

Hotel La Pradera is a no-fuss family establishment with spectacular views of the Arenal Volcano. Guests will enjoy strolling through the hotel’s tropical gardens (and are advised to keep an eye out for birds and other creatures as they walk) or relaxing by the swimming pool. The swimming pool is surrounded by lounge chairs and a Jacuzzi and has unbeatable views of the volcano. When hunger strikes, guests can visit the on-site restaurant for a meal styled after international and national cuisines, or visit the bar for beers, wines, liquors and more.

The rooms at La Pradera are spacious, clean and modern – they have tile floors, wood paneling, and vaulted ceilings. All have private terraces with excellent volcano views, as well as private hot water bathrooms, air conditioning, cable TV, and a hairdryer. Bungalows have a mini fridge. All guests receive a complimentary breakfast every morning.

Hotel La Pradera also offers ATV tours. These tours begin with a ride to the Arenal Waterfall. After the fall, the ride continues through plantations near the town of Jauri and then along the Arenal River, where tour takers will stop for a snack. After some relaxation, the tour will return to its original location.

Tours leave at 7:30 AM, 11:00 AM and 2:30 PM. The tour lasts 3 hours.

The tour includes transportation to and from your hotel, a bilingual guide, drinks, and snacks.
