Sueño Celeste is an intimate bed and breakfast situated just outside the small town Bijagua in northern Costa Rica. Bijagua lies in the valley between the Tenorio and Miravalles volcanoes, and offers visitors stunning scenery alongside some fabulous outdoor activities.
Rural tourism in Bijagua is beginning to take off as more and more travelers get word of its acclaimed natural beauty. Bijagua is 16 km from the Tenorio Volcano National Park, which offers hiking opportunities through cloud forests and rainforests, as well as access to the incredible Río Celeste, a river whose bluish color (the result of aluminium and acid water mixing) astounds all who are fortunate enough see it. Also within the park are a number of thermal hot springs and pools that can be swam and soaked in. Other activities within the Bijagua area include rafting, bird watching, farm visits, tubing, kayaking, horseback riding and more.
Sueño Celeste (“blue dream” in Spanish) is a small and lovingly maintained bed and breakfast. It is set on three acres of partially reforested property and has winding trails that give guests wonderful views of the volcanoes as well as the chance to spot a number of bird species. Every morning guests are served a tasty continental breakfast of homemade bread, marmalade, fresh produce and Costa Rican coffee on the hotel’s terrace.
Sueño Celeste’s six rooms are nicely decorated in a simple Spanish style. Colorful rugs cover pleasant stone floors and flowery artwork hangs from the walls. Two rooms have a queen size bed fitted with an orthopedic mattress, as well as a comfortable full size bed that can sleep an additional two people.
One Luxury Bungalow, with one Queen Bed; recommended for Honeymooners.
